Finding the optimal size to best showcase your image in relation to the wall and space can be determined with the following guidance, in addition to subjective factors.
Primarily, the crucial factor is the viewing distance from the image or wall.
The rule of thumb here is: Viewing distance = Double image diagonal.
The further away the viewer usually stands from the image, the larger the image should be. Conversely, this also means that you should not choose a picture that is too large, for example, in a narrow corridor, as the viewer does not have the option to step back as far as needed to enjoy the picture. In this case, it makes more sense to opt for several smaller formats arranged in a row.
On the other hand, e.g. above a sofa, you should not choose a format that is too small, as the viewer will always be at a great distance from the picture and otherwise the impact the image convey will be lost. In this case, the picture can easily have a width of 100 cm or more.

Important: The choice of a possible image format also depends on the resolution of your image file. We automatically check this after the upload, so you will only see formats for which your file is at least theoretically suitable.
